For the artist:
McMichael Canadian Art Collection – Thursday, October 23, 2014
Located north of the city, the McMichael Canadian Art Collection combines a pastoral setting with the creativity of the human hand. This 15-room facility was constructed out of hand-hewn timbers and native stone, providing an impressive setting for works by Canada’s most famous artists including the historic Group of Seven.
The tour will start with lunch at the historic Doctor’s House where you will enjoy a three-course meal. After lunch you will have an opportunity to stroll down the main street of the Town of Kleinburg where antiques, collectibles, early Canadian architecture and beautiful handcrafted furnishings provide a flavour of early provincial living and values. The tour will then continue to the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, where you will have the opportunity to experience the work of Tom Thomson, the Group of Seven, their contemporaries, and First Nations, Métis, Inuit and other artists who have made a contribution to the development of Canadian art.
Space is limited. Click here to register for the Mc Michael Canadian Art Collection tour, or if you have already completed registration, please contact the ICRE secretariat at 613-730-8177 ext. 322, or by email at icre@royalcollege.ca.
